Amanda Shwetzer began playing the French Horn in 5 th grade. She played throughout junior high and high school in the marching band, orchestra, concert band, pit orchestra and the Minnesota Youth Symphony.  Amanda continued private lessons in college and played for a small theater company in St. Paul, Minnesota.  Amanda moved to Portland in 1998. 

Amanda currently plays with the Portland Metro Concert Band, the One More Time Around Again Marching Band and occasionally the Get A Life Marching Band.  Amanda joined the Mt. Hood Pops in the winter season of 2010.

She lives in Portland with partner Sharon and 3 year-old son Cooper.
