Marilyn Pierik began her music studies in Tucson, Arizona, was active in school music in Ft. Collins, Colorado, and in college in Southern California, where she studied piano, violin and viola. She earned her Masters in Library Science at the University of Southern California and after moving to Oregon, worked at Mt. Hood Community College where she was a Reference Librarian until her retirement in 1998. She was a founding member of the Pops and its first Board President. She is currently the Orchestra Manager and Arcato Quartet/Chamber music coordinator.
